The tied agent agreement between CM-Equity AG and Vivid Invest GmbH ended on the 31st of August 2023.

Starting in July 2023, Vivid will gradually roll out the new Vivid Invest 2.0 Pocket with the possibility to invest in real stocks and ETFs. The Invest 2.0 Pocket will enable our customers to own their assets along with shareholder rights, such as dividend payouts. The relationship between CM-Equity and Vivid Invest ends and, therefore, the previous Fractional Shares Pocket won’t be supported anymore.

Vivid will extend an invitation to all customers to transfer their assets to Vivid Invest 2.0 at no cost or fees. In Germany, Vivid will also account for any possible tax consequences arising from the sale of Fractional Shares during the transfer process with CM-Equity to the new Vivid Invest 2.0.

Here are the timelines for the new launch:

  • In July, you’ll be sent a migration invitation.

  • You won’t be able to place any new buy orders from June 30th, 2023.

  • You’ll still be able to sell assets until July 28th, 2023. Please note that Fractional shares can only be sold when the exchange where the underlying instruments are traded is open. Regular trading hours (UTC +1) are from Monday to Friday.
For Stocks and ETFs traded on US Exchanges, trading hours are 03:30 pm - 10:00 pm CET.
For Stocks traded on EU Exchanges, trading hours are 09:00 am - 05:30 pm CET.

  • If you don’t migrate or sell your positions by then, these will be automatically liquidated on July 31st, 2023 and the proceeds will be transferred to your Main Pocket.

Will the migration or automatic liquidation cost me anything?

The migration or liquidation of your fractional instruments won’t imply a commission regardless of whether you have the Standard or Prime plan. Nonetheless, if your positions were liquidated and you reside in Germany, taxes will apply. If you decide to migrate them to Vivid Invest 2.0, Vivid will cover the taxes for you. Please note that this only applies if you migrate to Vivid Invest 2.0, not if your positions are automatically liquidated.

You can access and download your trading reports from the "Documents" section of the app by logging into your profile. If you reside in Germany, the tax statement will be available at the end of the year.
