Tax identification number (TIN) is a unique identifying number, issued upon registration with the tax authority in the country where the individual is a taxpayer.

The tax identification number remains permanently valid and doesn’t change in any event, including a relocation, a change of name, or a change of civil status.

Each country may have a different term for TIN.
